This Began With One Journal

Years ago, Queenie Brown created the first version of this journal as a gift for her niece.

She asked her sister to write the first entry - a message filled with love, affirmation, identity, and all the things her daughter might one day forget about herself.

Then she told her to tuck it under her daughter’s pillow.

That simple act opened a beautiful conversation between mother and daughter.

Years later, after Queenie’s sister passed away, her niece still had the journal - her mother’s handwriting, her mother’s words, her mother’s humor, her mother’s wisdom, and her mother’s love preserved on the pages.

That is when this became more than a journal.
